Multilingual support for review request forms (& campaigns)

Many businesses using Embed My Reviews operate in multilingual environments — especially in hospitality and tourism, where guests often come from different countries and speak different languages.

Currently, review request forms are limited to a single language. This makes the user experience less natural for international audiences and can directly impact conversion rates when asking for feedback.

Why multilingual support matters

  • Hospitality & tourism: Hotels, colivings, restaurants, and activity providers welcome guests from multiple countries. Sending a review request in their preferred language increases the likelihood of receiving more reviews — and more authentic ones.

  • Multilingual countries: In places like Switzerland, Belgium, or Canada, businesses need to communicate in several official languages.

  • International destinations: For destinations such as Dakhla, Bali, or Barcelona, where clients often come from abroad, multilingual review requests are key to improving response rates and ensuring a consistent brand experience.

  • Professional image: Offering review requests in the user’s language shows care and professionalism, reinforcing trust and brand perception.

Suggested implementation

  • Option to create multiple language versions of the same review request form & campaign

  • Automatic language detection (based on browser settings or client selection).

  • Possibility to add a language selector (flag or dropdown) on the form.

This feature would make Embed My Reviews more powerful and relevant for international businesses — especially those in the hospitality, tourism, and service industries, where multilingual communication is a must.

This has now been implemented how it works:

    1. Under the location where you want to support multi-language forms create forms on each of the language you want to support or optionally use the copy option.

    2. Visit one of the feedback form URLs and you will see the available languages - the system automatically detects the browser language and attempts to use the form with that language if available in the location otherwise defaults to existing functionality.

Optionally you may also use the query param lang and your 2 character language code i.e. en, fr etc and the form will load in that language.

    Screenshot as an example.

Feedback Forms – Add Language Selection Possibility

We are targeting hospitality businesses, where many guests are tourists who often do not speak the local or default language fluently. If they can choose their own language, they are more likely to complete the form and give clearer, more honest feedback. This improves overall user experience.

With this in mind, I would like to suggest adding a language selection option for the feedback forms. In the backend, there would be the possibility to set a default language for a feedback funnel and to add extra languages for that funnel. On the feedback funnel itself, the customer could change the language, and when a language is chosen, all text in the funnel would switch accordingly, including system texts such as “How would you rate us?” and similar phrases.

Since this might not be relevant for all white‑label companies, it would be helpful if, in the master backend, there were an option to enable or disable this feature per partner/account. If a partner does not want to offer language selection, this option could simply be hidden or disabled for their customers.

Notes: Since such an option might be problematic if customers change content in the Content & Flow section, this possibility could be disabled there, and all text for all languages could be hard‑coded (or handled via another reliable method) to ensure consistency.

Unlocking Global Markets: Why Multilingual Support is a Non-Negotiable Core Feature

The Problem: Currently, EMR is restricted to a single-language experience for review collection and campaigns. This creates a massive friction point for any business operating in tourist areas, border regions, or the e-commerce space. By forcing a single language, we are essentially telling our clients to ignore up to 50% of their customer base. In the Review Management industry, this isn't just a missing feature; it's a structural handicap.

Why this is a Priority for Growth and Retention:

    1. Eliminating Conversion Friction: Data shows that 76% of consumers feel frustrated when a digital experience is not personalized to their needs. Sending a review request in English to a French-speaking customer (or vice versa) results in an immediate drop in conversion rates of 15% to 70%. We are leaving reviews on the table for our clients, which directly diminishes the perceived value of EMR.

    2. The Competitive Standard: Multilingual support is a baseline requirement for our competitors. Solutions like Guest Suite, Trustpilot, Birdeye, and Talkwalker (which supports 127 languages) have already solved this. For agencies using EMR, the lack of multilingual forms makes it impossible to pitch the solution to high-value clients in the hospitality, luxury, and international retail sectors.

    3. Market Expansion (The DSA & Single Market): With the Digital Services Act (DSA), the EU is pushing for a transparent, unified digital market for 450 million citizens across 27 countries. A Review Management tool that cannot scale across these linguistic borders is technically obsolete for any European-based business with growth ambitions.

    4. Strategic SEO for Clients: Google’s AI-powered search (SGE/AI Overviews) extracts semantic snippets from reviews. If a hotel in the Alps cannot collect reviews in German or English from its guests, it loses its ability to rank for those specific foreign-language queries. By enabling multilingual support, EMR helps its clients dominate local SEO globally.

    5. Stop Forced Churn: When a client’s business grows or expands internationally, they are forced to leave EMR because the platform cannot follow them. We are effectively building a "growth ceiling" into our own product. Adding multilingual support ensures that EMR remains the long-term partner for scaling businesses.

    Expected Features:

    • Language Detection: Automatically serve the review form based on the user's browser settings.

    • Customizable Campaigns: Allow different email/SMS templates based on the customer's language attribute.

    • Unified Dashboard: View and respond to reviews in multiple languages within a single interface (leveraging the existing AI Reply tool).

Conclusion: To remain a leader in the ORM space, EMR must evolve from a "local tool" to a "global solution." Let's remove the language barrier and unlock the full potential of our clients' reputation.
