As a professional reputation manager, it’s crucial to understand the various metrics used to gauge customer satisfaction and loyalty, as well as the role of public feedback platforms. Here’s a detailed overview of Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT), Net Promoter Score (NPS), Customer Effort Score (CES), and how they relate to public feedback metrics like Google Reviews, Facebook Reviews, etc.
1. Customer Satisfaction Score (CSAT)
Definition: CSAT measures the overall satisfaction of customers with a specific interaction, service, or product.
How It Works: CSAT is typically measured using survey questions that ask customers to rate their satisfaction on a scale (e.g., 1 to 5 or 1 to 10). A common CSAT question might be, "How satisfied were you with your experience today?"
Focus: It focuses on immediate feedback, often used right after a transaction or customer service interaction.
Usage:
Helps identify areas for improvement in products or services.
Useful for short-term monitoring of customer satisfaction.
2. Net Promoter Score (NPS)
Definition: NPS measures customer loyalty and the likelihood of customers recommending your product or service to others.
How It Works: NPS is measured by asking customers to rate, on a scale from 0 to 10, how likely they are to recommend the company to friends or colleagues. Customers are categorized into three groups:
Promoters (9-10): Loyal customers who will continue to buy and refer others.
Passives (7-8): Satisfied but unenthusiastic customers.
Detractors (0-6): Unhappy customers who may damage your brand through negative feedback.
The score is calculated by subtracting the percentage of Detractors from the percentage of Promoters.
Focus: It considers long-term customer loyalty and brand advocacy.
Usage:
Valuable for strategic initiatives and understanding overall customer loyalty.
Helps in benchmarking against competitors and tracking changes over time.
3. Customer Effort Score (CES)
Definition: CES measures how easy it was for customers to interact with your company, often in relation to solving a problem or completing a transaction.
How It Works: CES is typically measured by asking customers to rate their agreement with a statement, such as "The company made it easy for me to handle my issue," using a scale from 1 to 7.
Focus: It emphasizes the ease of customer interactions, pinpointing areas where customers may encounter difficulties.
Usage:
Helps identify friction points in customer journeys.
Useful for improving customer experience, especially in service interactions.
4. Public Feedback Metrics
Definition: Public feedback refers to reviews and ratings left by customers on various platforms, such as Google Reviews, Facebook Reviews, etc.
How It Works: Customers can share their opinions and experiences online, often rating their overall satisfaction in addition to providing comments. These platforms allow for visibility to a wide audience, providing insights into customer sentiment.
Focus: Public feedback captures a broad spectrum of customer experiences and opinions about a brand, product, or service.
Usage:
Influences potential customers' decisions by providing social proof and credibility.
Can impact brand reputation significantly, as positive reviews can enhance trust and draw new customers, while negative reviews can deter prospects.
Key Differences
Focus:
CSAT: Immediate satisfaction with a particular service or interaction.
NPS: Long-term loyalty and likelihood to recommend the brand.
CES: Ease of interaction and effort required from the customer.
Public Feedback: General sentiment about a brand as observed from multiple customers' experiences.
Time Frame:
CSAT: Short-term, related to specific interactions.
NPS: Comprehensive, considering the overall relationship with the brand.
CES: Often tied to specific processes or touchpoints.
Public Feedback: Reflects ongoing customer sentiment and can evolve over time.
Outcome Measurement:
CSAT: Indicates satisfaction level.
NPS: Measures customer loyalty and potential for future growth.
CES: Assesses user experience regarding the effort required.
Public Feedback: Aggregates personal experiences into a public-facing metric that can shape brand perception.
In summary, while CSAT, NPS, and CES offer unique insights into customer experience, public feedback platforms complement these metrics by providing a broader context of how customers perceive a brand in the marketplace. Utilizing these different metrics together allows for a comprehensive understanding of customer sentiment and can guide reputation management strategies effectively.

I really would love to be able to add different types of review funnels. So I could have NPS etc, but also customize the flow.
For example, I have a customer who has many entrepreneus working under her. They all need personal recommendations, but also she needs Facebook reviews. But to get the entrepreneus to ask for reviews, both need to gain. So a review form that asks personal review and star rating. After this direction to review platform choices.
So, a form builder of sorts as Severi said.

Also CSAT would be great. If this is developed, it could be made into a versatile form builder, where NPS and CSAT is just a field type in a the builder, with other options too. Here is an example from a similar product https://trustmary.com/net-promoter-score/

This should also include adding NPS/CSAT widgets
