Background:
The current auto-reply feature with approval is a fantastic addition to the platform, allowing users to configure automated responses for reviews on Google Business Profiles and Facebook Pages. However, some users have reported that after approving a reply, the status remains stuck on "Replying With Auto Response..." indefinitely. While the reply is successfully published on Google Business Profile, refreshing the page manually is required to update the status to "complete."
Issue:
The root cause, as explained by Mannie Gill, is due to the handling of API calls. The system processes responses in the background for efficiency. While this is an intended function, the lack of automatic page update creates a less seamless user experience.
Proposed Solution:
To enhance the user experience, implement polling to periodically fetch updates from the server and automatically refresh the status once the task is complete. This approach ensures that users can see real-time updates without needing to manually refresh the page.
Improved User Experience:
Users would no longer need to refresh the page manually, making the interface more intuitive and user-friendly.
Accurate Status Information in Real-Time:
Polling eliminates discrepancies in task completion status and reflects the actual state of responses without user intervention.
Operational Efficiency:
Prevents confusion among users who might misinterpret the infinite loading indicator as a failure in the auto-reply system.
