Google and Facebook API refresh sync

Hey team,

I just wanted to raise a few concerns around the review syncing functionality on the platform. At the moment, I’m finding the sync speed quite slow, and the lack of a manual refresh option is proving to be a real limitation.

More importantly, there seems to be an issue with the sync itself, when I check the source info and it shows the time of the next scheduled sync, I’ve waited well past that time, yet recent reviews from both Google and Facebook still haven’t pulled through.

I completely understand there’s a lot of development happening in the background, and I really do appreciate all the new features that have been rolled out recently, they’re impressive. That said, I’m finding it difficult to confidently go all-in on selling the platform when I’m running into recurring issues with core functionality.

This is the first customer I’ve signed up to the platform and I’ve already experienced multiple bugs and errors, which doesn’t leave the best impression. I really believe it’s important that we invest time into stabilising and refining the features that are already live, especially those that have been around for a while, rather than letting these issues be back-shelved.

With that in mind, I’d really appreciate if we could get clarity on the following points to help get things running smoothly:

  • What is the current sync interval for pulling Google and Facebook reviews?

  • Are we using efficient polling, like incremental updates or the updated_after parameter, to avoid unnecessary API calls?

  • Are users able to manually refresh reviews, or can that functionality be added?

  • Are we close to or hitting any API rate limits for either Google or Facebook?

  • How are we managing Facebook Page token expiry and reauthentication for users?

  • Are we tracking whether users have lost permissions (like pages_read_engagement) and notifying them?

  • Are we using proper filters to ensure we're not missing any public reviews from either platform?

  • Do we have error logs or fallback systems in place when sync fails?

  • Can we show users the last synced time in the dashboard so they know their reviews are current?

  • Can we test more frequent sync intervals (e.g. every 30 minutes) on a few accounts and monitor performance?

Thanks for taking the time to look into this, I’m keen to get everything stable so I can keep pushing the platform with confidence and build trust with early users.
